The Games Itself.

Katniss and Peeta compete in the 74th Annual Hunger Games . Twenty-four tributes: two coming from each of the twelve districts take on the Games . The teenagers train for two weeks with a former victor of the Hunger Games as their mentor. The day the Games begin, many tributes die. They are fighting at the Cornucopia for weapons , supplies , etc . Katniss decides not to risk her life & she heads for the woods. Her very first night in the Games is hard . She's starving , and parched. Her first strategy of sleeping in the night is tie her sleeping bag high in a tree and camoflauge herself to where no one can see her. Normally the tributes from District 1 & 2 are very strong and competetive. Katniss is furiated when Peeta allies with the Careers as they call them. He was planning to help them kill her, until Cato (the leader of the Careers) and Katniss meet face to face. Peeta saves her. He takes a sword to his hip\pelvis area. Katniss then wants to team up with her former teammate Peeta. She can't find him for days. She meet's Rue . Rue & Katniss team up, and end up killing two of the Careers.Together they blow up the Careers supply & that makes them very angry. While high in a tree, they drop a nest of Thacker Jackets(killer jackets who make you break into huge hives) on the sleeping allied group. Immediatly , Cato, Clove & Peeta are gone:leaving Glimmer to die. The boy from district 2 was killed by Katniss herself with the arrows she stole from Glimmer. The boy was killed when he killed Rue. Katniss immediately kills the boys and holds Rue while she takes her last breath . She's alone and starving. What to do ? During about of week of lonliness & starvation she locates Peeta . He's injured badly. With her mother being a doctor she knows the proper remedies of taking care of him . She needs one thing . Medicine . During the games, people in The Capitol sponsor you and send you gifts. Luckily, Haymitch sends them medicine. The announcement is made that TWO people can win the Games. Once Peeta can walk on his leg, they're only goal is to stay away from Cato. Peeta expresses his love for Katniss in the cave they found as a hideout. They kiss for the first time . Katniss is confused through out whether or not she loves Peeta or her life long friend Gale. They play a role of the "star crossed lovers" . They protect each other until the very last day of the games......It's came all down to Peeta, Katniss , & Cato . Cato is killed by a pack of wolves, & Peeta & Katniss are waiting for their crown. The announcement comes on the only one person can win . They're both furious. They wanted this all along , to make sure they made it to the end. They both decide to kill themselves with poisionous berries. Right before they do , the speaker annouces that they've both won the 74th Hunger Games . Once back home , the question is ... Explain how you would feel if you loved two people but you are only allowed to love one ? Is that possible ?

Personal Opinions.

After reading The Hunger Games , I was anxious to read the next book. I'm not a big reader, & I never thought I would finish this book. It's incredible. The author, Suzanne Collins did an excellent job making the book exciting. I couldn't stop reading, there is a twist at the turn of every page. The book was set out in a very unique way. Their way of living is completely different from our way of living . Here, we'd never put young children & teenagers out in a game to die. I didn't like the way the booked ended personally , but once I started reading the second book recently, I understood why. The "fake love" with Peeta made the story ten times better. At first you think Peeta is a jerk and you don't like him as the character, but you learn to love him. I loves Katniss all the way through the book. She's the type of girl who can show all of the cocky guys she can do it too. I really liked her personality and part in the book . I'm becoming obsessed with The Hunger Games trilogy. The way I thought the book would end, was completely wrong. The author really shocked me. I loved almost everything about this book, brilliantly plotted , shocking , & a great read. It's a book I would probably re-read . I'm very excited for the movie that is supposed to me coming out soon!

Synopsis.

The Hunger Games is amazing. It is based in the country of Panem, where everything is controlled by The Capitol. The country is set up into 12 districts. Each district is completely different from the rest of the districts. People of other districts know very little about all of the other districts. It's all a complete mystery. Each year the children of each district go to an event called the reaping. None of them look forward to this: if there name is drawn out of the thousands put together, there life is at stake. They are playing in The Hunger Games . The hunger games is made up by The Capitol for their entertainment. One boy, and one girl from each district is chosen to compete in the Games. They are treated like luxury until they enter the arena. There they fight to stay alive. The only way to win....is to stay alive. Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are 15 year olds from District 12. They are competing in the Hunger Games. Katniss volunteered her spot in the Hunger Games to take place of her 12 year old sister, Prim . Peeta & Katniss despise each other through-out the games until the announcement that two people can win the games . They team up , and Peeta breaks out and tells of his love for Katniss . Taken by surprise, they star in a "fake love" and that leads them to be victors of the Hunger Games, but in the end Katniss is confused for her best friend Gale she has feelings for and for Peeta, the boy she thought she despised. Who does she love ? If anyone ? Take a shot at the Hunger Games , you will love it.
